The Vikings evened their preseason record at 1-1 after a tough loss to Bassett High School (Bassett, CA). For the Olympians, wide receivers Cesar Ramirez (‘25) and CJ Kleinfelter (‘26) were key contributors, accounting for most of the team’s yardage and scoring. On Mountain View’s side, the focus remained on the ground game, with Everardo Nuñez (#4, ‘26) leading the charge. Nuñez rushed for 70 yards on 15 carries and scored the Vikings’ only touchdown. Quarterback Manuel Gonzalez (#7, ‘26) added 12 rushing yards, while kicker Josue Serna (#4, ‘25) secured the extra point, bringing the team’s total to 7 points. Unfortunately, Nuñez sustained a shoulder injury, and we wish him a speedy recovery.
