Mountain View High School is thrilled to welcome Beatriz Aguilar as its new Spanish teacher, bringing fresh enthusiasm and innovative teaching methods to the language department. Aguilar’s journey into education began while volunteering at a school, where she discovered a passion for teaching Spanish and helping students build confidence in their language abilities.
“I love teaching students and helping them feel more confident speaking Spanish,” Aguilar shared. Her focus this year is on improving students’ conversational skills and expanding their vocabulary to deepen their grasp of the language.
Known for her dynamic and engaging teaching style, Aguilar incorporates group activities to foster collaboration and ease anxiety in the classroom. “I use group activities to help students feel relaxed, so they don’t feel like they’re doing this alone,” she explained. Her approach creates a supportive environment that encourages students to take risks and actively participate in their language-learning journey.
Aguilar has also found a welcoming and collaborative environment among her colleagues. She expressed appreciation for their kindness and willingness to provide advice. “The other teachers have been nice, and I feel like I can rely on them for help with lessons and guidance,” she said.
As Aguilar settles into her new role, her energy and commitment to student success are already making an impact. With her fresh perspective and dedication, she is poised to inspire students and strengthen the Spanish program at Mountain View High School.
