As the new academic year begins, Mountain View’s freshly renovated Viking Stadium played host to the highly anticipated Welcome Back Rally, setting an energetic tone for the months ahead. After a year of extensive renovations, the stadium once again became the hub for celebrating school spirit, with students from every grade showing off their enthusiasm. The rally was a vibrant display, featuring everything from Frank Ocean posters to students dressed as Spider-Man, Cookie Monster, and Minions.
This event marked the finale of Viking Spirit Week, where each class showcased their school pride with colorful outfits and themed dress-up days. The rally also highlighted our fall sports teams, with special attention given to the Viking football team, the Lady Vikes’ tennis and volleyball teams, and the cross-country squad. Each group of athletes took their moment in the spotlight, running through the Viking ship to cheers and applause from the crowd.
The rally also introduced the freshman Class of 2028, who were excited to welcome their new ASB Class President for the semester, Brianda Flores. The event wrapped up with a high-energy competition that included volleyball, football, and a three-legged race. The Senior class claimed victory, with the Juniors close behind, bringing an exciting conclusion to both the rally and Viking Spirit Week.
